Liability?

Anyone have any first hand experience how spaces are getting around the liability/insurance aspect? I was tossing around the notion of trying to get a space started in my town. I think the support and maybe even funding would be there but I can't get my head around the liability side. Thoughts? Chee...

Multifunction Tester LCD12864 Transistor, Inductance Capacit

I tested the ICstation component tester and made a quick video <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/83xA4OjBF7I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Long story short- if you are in the market for one of these- go for it. I was quite amazed at how well it works! N...

Solidoodle Replacement

Well the time is quickly coming to replace my "doodle. It is getting pretty tired and I'm a bit sicked of dealing with the factory warped bed after this many years. Any thoughts on what I should replace it with?

You guys know me- price is indeed a factor :)

Cheers

CC3D with Open Pilot on Fixed Wing?

Anyone fly a fixed wing with the old Open Pilot software/firmware on a CC3D by chance? I think I might give it a try before reflashing but just curious if anyone had luck. It will be on my Versa wing.

Cheers

Fort McMurray Fire

Many will know about the crazy wild fires going on in Alberta. If we get the chance, we should really try to help out however we can. With that said- the companies like Best Western who email people saying "You can help the people of Alberta by staying at our hotel" can burn in hell  If they h...

Re: EduCase Portable Classroom Project

The build is well under way now and I have the satellite communication working perfectly as well as the first Raspberry Pi image almost complete with a tonne of educational resources on board. I'll update some links in the future but for now you can find the project documented on Hackaday here: http...

Re: DIY High Altitude Balloon

Hey Levi, I don't have much knowledge there. I have seen a few APRS modules for HAB projects but they were ridiculous expensive. I just used the Spot GPS which communicates directly with sats and doesnt rely on cell. Worked out okay for me besides a few minor hiccups (It went to sleep on takeoff but...

3D Printer Safety System (Smoke/Temp Shutoff)

Hey Guys, Here is the first generation of the relay code which I will use to shut off my 3D printer in case of overtem or smoke detected. This should help prevent a fire but never EVER rely on it alone! Always watch your printer :) Cheers /* Erics 3D Printer Safety System My Youtube Channel : http:/...
